World Green Roof Day unites nations in celebration of modern Green Infrastructure!
World Green Roof Day (#WGRD) celebrates the benefits of green roofs for people and nature in cities and towns around the world. Vancouver’s green roof community was an early adopter when WGRD launched in 2020.

The theme for World Green Roof Day 2025 was education. Perfect timing, as GRIN launched educational outreach in 2025. With support from the Zero Emissions Innovation Centre and Wild Island Foundation, GRIN will provide both the industry and BC community “front runners” with networking, knowledge sharing, education, and capacity building opportunities, both in-person and virtually.
Education and learning takes many forms, including professional trainings, adult education, lessons for elementary schools, presentations for garden clubs, research collaborations, and project partnerships. Contact us with your ideas!
