The Green Roof Infrastructure Network of BC (GRIN) is an interdisciplinary, nonprofit network of green roof champions united to advance the widespread implementation of green roofs and stormwater infrastructure in BC. GRIN strives to bring together leading thinkers from policy-making, non-profit, academic, industry, and community organizations. Fund Development Director

Do you have a way with applications, enjoy collaborating on manifesting visions and goals, and passionate about a living biosphere and healthy society? Do you want to support the growth and efficacy of the Green Roof Infrastructure Network in BC? GRIN is seeking a Fundraiser!

Description

As a new organization, we are looking for a fundraiser who enjoys learning, working with others, and is inspired to help transform GRIN’s potential into potency. The fundraiser will  collaborate with the finance team and work closely with the Executive Director on fundraising initiatives, with focus on revenue growth and donor cultivation. The fundraiser will:

  • Identify and write successful grant applications
  • Cultivate sponsors and partners
  • Coordinate board fundraising expectations
  • Track revenue targets
  • Develop annual fundraising plan
  • Commit 5-15 hours per month

Marketing / Communications Director

Do you enjoy telling compelling stories that inspire people to take action? Do you have a knack for translating complex ideas into clear, engaging messages? Are you energized by building a community around a mission you believe in? If so, then GRIN is looking for someone like YOU to help shape how our organization shows up in the world – online, in print, and in conversation! 

Description

The Marketing / Communications Director leads the organization’s communications strategy and helps amplify its mission, programs, and impact. This role works collaboratively with leadership and program teams to ensure consistent messaging and effective outreach.

Key qualifications and responsibilities:

  • Experience with communications, marketing, media relations, or public outreach
  • Strong writing and editing skills for diverse audiences
  • Ability to translate mission-driven work into compelling stories and messages
  • Familiarity with digital communications tools (e.g., email newsletters, website updates, social media platforms)
  • Experience developing or implementing communications strategies or campaigns
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, and partners
    Passion for the organization’s mission and values

Social Media Superstar

Policy Nerd

Are you passionate about actively engaging in policies, including their development, implementation, and evaluation? Do you enjoy analyzing policies, identifying potential problems, and suggesting improvements? GRIN is seeking a policy nerd to support its board governance, and its policy outreach.

Description

We’re seeking a knowledgeable policy person to help build GRIN’s nonprofit foundations, and also to drive change in all jurisdictions. Key tasks include:

  • Supporting nonprofit governance development
  • Assisting with fundraising strategy and execution
  • Identifying and advancing policy opportunities at municipal and provincial levels
  • Attending policy events and building relationships at various jurisdictions

Website Maintenance / Manager

Do you enjoy keeping websites running smoothly and up to date? Do you have a knack for spotting broken links, improving layouts, or making information easier to find? Do you like working behind the scenes to ensure an organization’s online presence is clear, functional, and welcoming? GRIN is looking for a volunteer who is comfortable making small technical updates that make a big difference to users.

Description

The Website Maintenance / Manager supports the organization by ensuring its website remains accurate, functional, and easy to navigate. This role works with staff or volunteers to update content, maintain site performance, and help ensure the website reflects the organization’s current programs and activities. Key qualifications and responsibilities include:

  • Experience maintaining or updating websites (e.g., WordPress, Squarespace, or similar platforms)
  • Ability to post and format new content such as news updates, events, and resources
  • Basic understanding of website structure, usability, and navigation
  • Familiarity with troubleshooting minor technical issues (broken links, formatting errors, plugin updates)
  • Ability to coordinate with communications or program teams to keep information current
  • Attention to detail and commitment to keeping content accurate and accessible
  • Interest in supporting a mission-driven nonprofit organization
