Greening BC Skylines Together…

The Green Roof Infastructure Network of BC

GRIN at the Union of BC Municipalities

Launching the GRIN at UBCM

After months of dedicated work/ play (including a couple green roof tours), we are pleased to officially launch GRIN (Green Roof Infrastructure Network) at the Union of BC Municipalities convention in September (19-21).

Find us in the Exhibition Hall!  Stop by for a special brooch (while supplies last).

The GRIN table will balance neutral advocacy with industry experience. In addition to our experienced board members, all of whom work actively with green roofs in BC, we are pleased to include industry partners at our table who support our mission. In this light, the GRIN table will feature educational messaging while tactfully sharing practical know-how from industry.

This 3-day event will unite and empower local leaders from across the province “to foster balance that supports vibrant and resilient communities”. From our perspective, vibrant and resilient communities necessarily include green roofs and other forms of green infrastructure.

GRIN is a fresh voice for green roofs in BC. As a nonprofit, GRIN advocates for the environmental, social and economic benefits of green roofs, while also supporting and advocating for the industry that makes a green roofscape possible.

Our mission:

GRIN is an interdisciplinary network of green roof champions united to advance the widespread implementation and appropriate policies, planning, design and maintenance of green roofs and stormwater infrastructure in BC. GRIN strives to bring together leading thinkers from policy-making, non-profit, academic, industry, and community organizations.
